Backslash Serif is a serif typeface by Silverdav Studio. It was released on June 1, 2020, and the files come in TTF and OTF formats. It has many alternate characters and ligatures, so it suits headlines, logos, posters and invitations.
About the Backslash Serif font
The font is built around its alternate letters and OpenType features. Many design apps show these in a glyph or OpenType menu, so you can swap in a different version of a letter in a few clicks.
Letter spacing changes the mood of a serif headline. Test a few spacing settings before you pick one, because the same word can look formal or loose depending on the gap.

How to use Backslash Serif font
On Windows, unzip the download first. Right-click the .ttf or .otf file and choose Install. Restart your design app if the font is not in its menu.
On a Mac, unzip the file and double-click the font. Select Install Font in Font Book. Quit and reopen your app if the new font does not show up.
In Canva, upload the file if your plan allows fonts. If not, type the text in a desktop app, export it as a PNG and place that image in your design. Alternate letters are usually easier to reach in a desktop app.
Use Backslash Serif for short headlines, logos and titles. Long body text is harder to read in a display serif, so set paragraphs in a plain serif or sans serif.
