Mrs Eaves is a serif typeface with small caps and petite caps. Zuzana Licko made it in 1996 as a redesign of John Baskerville’s typeface from 1757. Use it for book-style text and headings that need a classic look.
About the Mrs Eaves font
John Baskerville drew the original typeface in Birmingham, England, in 1757. It is known for sharp contrast between thin and thick strokes. Mrs Eaves takes its name from Sarah Eaves, Baskerville’s wife.
Zuzana Licko’s 1996 version keeps the Baskerville shapes but lowers the contrast. The thin strokes are heavier and the thick strokes are lighter. The family also includes small caps and petite caps. Petite caps sit between small capitals and full capitals in size, so they work well for labels and short headings.
The family is also listed on Adobe Fonts.
