Cursive Font Generator: Copy and Paste Cursive Text
A cursive font generator changes ordinary letters into joined, handwriting-style characters. You paste the result into a bio, a caption, a chat or a name field. The letters are Unicode characters, not a font you install, so they work anywhere the app shows Unicode text. The shapes depend on the app’s own font, so the same cursive line can look a little different on each device.

How to use
- Type your text in the box above the list.
- Compare the styles, and press Copy beside the one you like.
- Paste it into your bio, caption, chat or name field.
Signature preview
Type a name in the box and the preview shows it in the four cursive styles at the top of the list, side by side and at a large size. Use it to compare the four before you pick one. Each card has its own Copy button.
The preview uses the same text engine as the rest of the page, so the results match the list below it. Short names read best. A long name can wrap onto two lines in a narrow column, which is normal.
Cursive sets without digits keep the normal number. See cursive numbers below.
Cursive font examples
The list below shows the cursive styles, each with your text. Some look like a formal copperplate hand, with tall loops. Others look like a quick marker note with thin, joined strokes. Bold cursive has thicker strokes and holds up better at small sizes, so it is often the safer choice for a name in a list of other names.
Cursive styles do not all have the same character set. Some cover capital and lowercase letters but skip a few punctuation marks. When a character is missing from a style, the generator keeps the normal character so the line still reads.
Cursive font names
Each style on this page has a name in the list, such as Bold Cursive. Those names are the names the generator uses, not a list of official typefaces. A cursive style in this generator is a set of characters. A font with a name, such as a script typeface you download, is a different thing with a licence and a file. If you want to know the name of a real script font, look at its file or its download page.
Cursive for Instagram, TikTok and Discord
Cursive text is popular in bios, captions and display names. Each app displays Unicode in its own way. Some apps show every character. Others show a box or a question mark for a character their font lacks. Paste the text into the app, look at it on your phone, and then decide. If the box appears, choose a different style from the same group.
For a username, most apps accept only plain letters and numbers, so cursive text usually belongs in the display name or the bio. The Instagram font generator has a profile preview if you want to see a bio before you post it.
Cursive numbers
Most Unicode cursive sets do not include digits. The generator handles this by leaving the normal digit in place. A name such as “Mia 2026” will show cursive letters with plain numbers, which is often the look people want.
If the whole line must be cursive, the digits will not match. Write the number as a word, such as “twenty twenty six”, or use a bold style that includes digits. The note under the preview says the same thing, so you do not have to test each style by hand.
Cursive signature
People often want a signature for a card, a sign or a logo. A cursive line from this generator is text, not a handwritten signature. It is useful for a name in a caption, a sign-off in an email or a title on a page. It is not a legal signature and it does not carry the stroke pressure of real handwriting.
If you want a signature that looks hand-drawn, write it by hand and scan it, or use a script font with a licence that allows the use you need. Two script fonts on this site are ABC Cursive and Adaline Script. Check each licence before you use a font on a product.
Script font generator or cursive font generator?
People use both terms. In this context, “script” usually means a font family that looks like handwriting, and “cursive” means the joined style of writing. The generator gives you cursive characters. A script font file gives you a real typeface you can use in design software, with its own kerning and weight. The two tools answer different needs, so pick the one that fits the task.
Cursive font generator FAQ
Why does my cursive text look like boxes?
Your device’s font does not contain those characters. Try another cursive style. Bold styles are more likely to show correctly across devices.
Can I use cursive text in a document?
You can paste it, but it may not look the same in every program, and it does not change the font of the rest of the page. For a document, use a real font file.
Why are the numbers not cursive?
Most cursive sets have no digits. The generator keeps the normal digits. The numbers section explains the options.
Which cursive style is the easiest to read?
Bold cursive and the simpler joined styles are the easiest to read at small sizes. Use the signature preview to compare them with your own name.
