Font Generator: Copy and Paste Fonts for Names, Bios and Text
A font generator turns the letters you type into styled Unicode characters. You copy the result and paste it where you need it: a bio, a caption, a username, a Discord name or a message. The copy and paste fonts on this page are not font files. They are ordinary characters that happen to look like a different typeface, which is why they paste into places where a normal font cannot be changed.

Which style for what
Not every style suits every place. Some styles are built from characters that many apps do not display. The table below sends you to the page that covers each need in more depth.
| What you need | Start with |
|---|---|
| A signature line or a script name | Cursive font generator |
| A bio, caption or username for Instagram | Instagram font generator |
| Something soft for names, Discord or notes | Cute font generator |
| A gothic or old-style look for a design idea | Tattoo font generator |
| Hearts, crowns or stars around a name | Font generator with symbols |
Fonts for names
Names are the most common reason people search for a font generator. A display name on a game server or a chat app is short, so a few characters go a long way. Bold and double-struck styles stay readable at small sizes. Script styles look nice but can be hard to read in a crowded list of names, so use them for a name you want people to notice rather than for a name you type many times a day.
Check the name in the app before you rely on it. Some platforms accept only letters and numbers in a username, so a styled name may be refused. If that happens, keep the plain name for the username and use the fancy version in the display name, where most apps allow symbols.
Font generator with numbers
Numbers are the weak point of many styles. Unicode has separate blocks for bold, italic, script and gothic letters, but some blocks do not include digits. When a style has no digit for a character, the generator leaves the normal digit in place. The result is a name that mixes styled letters with plain numbers, which is often fine for a gamer tag or a year.
If you need every character styled, pick a bold or double-struck style. Those sets tend to include digits. Test the number in the app before you post it, because the look of a digit depends on the app’s font.
How copy and paste works here
Each row shows one style and its result. Press Copy beside the row, and the result goes to your clipboard. A short message confirms the copy. If your browser blocks clipboard access, the message asks you to press Ctrl+C, and you can select the text by hand.
The generator runs in your browser and nothing needs an account. You can change the text as often as you like, and the list updates as you type. The category buttons show only the styles in that group, so you can compare, for example, the bold styles without scrolling past the symbols.
Are these fonts free to use?
The characters are free to use in the sense that Unicode is a public standard and the generator does not charge for the styles. That does not mean the look is owned by nobody. Some styles are based on letter forms that belong to a designer, and a few styles are unique to a platform. For a logo, a book cover or a product, use a real font file under a licence you have read, and keep the copy and paste styles for personal posts and messages.
Real font files and game fonts
If you want a font that looks the same everywhere, you need a font file, not a Unicode style. Our font pages list free fonts with a preview tester and a download button when the licence allows it. Two good starting points are Montserrat, a clean sans for headings, and The Last of Us font, which lists free fonts close to that game’s narrow, distressed logo.
Font generator FAQ
Is the font generator free?
Yes. The generator runs in your browser and there is no sign-up. Copying a style costs nothing.
Why does one style look like boxes on my phone?
Some styles use characters that your phone’s font does not contain. Your device then shows empty boxes. Try a different style from the same group, or check the result on another device before you post it.
Can I use these styles in a username?
Many apps accept them in a display name but not in a username. Check the app’s rules first. If the name is refused, use the plain version for the username.
Why are some styles so long?
The zalgo and glitch styles add marks above and below each letter. They look busy and can make a line wrap badly. Use them for short text only.
Do the styles work for numbers?
Some do. Where a style has no digit, the normal digit stays. The numbers section above explains the difference.
