There is no single confirmed Deltarune font. The dialogue box uses a small pixel font, and sources do not agree on its exact name. Fan-made fonts like Determination Mono come close, and free pixel fonts from Google Fonts are safer for your own projects.
About the Deltarune font
Deltarune is a game by Toby Fox, the creator of Undertale. Chapter 1 came out on October 31, 2018. The text appears in crisp white pixel letters inside a black box with a white border, and that look is what people want when they search for the font.
Toby Fox has not published a font list, and the sources we found disagree. One article names a modified DotumChe for dialogue. Another names 8bit Operator. A third says the most common match is Determination Mono, which is a fan project. We could not verify any of the three, so we call them guesses.
The logo is custom artwork. We found no confirmed name for it.
Deltarune fonts and where to get them
Determination Mono
This is a fan-made recreation of the Undertale and Deltarune dialogue style. It is not an official release. Several versions exist with different licenses, so check the page before you use one. One listing is on FontSpace.
Fonts pulled from game files
You may find fonts that were ripped from the game data. We do not link those. Copyright on them is unclear, and the game’s own assets belong to their owners.
Using the look in your own projects
Pixel fonts are drawn on a grid, and the grid is the whole trick. A font built on an 8 or 16 pixel grid looks sharp only at sizes that are multiples of that number. If your text looks fuzzy, change the size before you change the font.
For a fan comic or a game-jam prototype, build the text box first and tune the font second. The box, the border and the spacing carry more of the Deltarune feel than any single typeface. If you plan to release the project, use an open-license pixel font so nobody has to ask about permission later.

How to make Deltarune-style text
- Draw a black box with a white border about 6 pixels thick, then place white text inside it.
- Keep the type small and turn off any smoothing so edges stay sharp.
- Use whole-number sizes. A pixel font looks blurry at odd sizes like 13.5 pt.
- For a character name, use bold color: yellow, pink or light blue on black.

FAQ
What font does Deltarune use?
Not confirmed. Fans usually point to Determination Mono, a fan-made font. Sources also mention DotumChe and 8bit Operator.
Is the Deltarune font the same as Undertale’s?
They look very close, and many fan fonts cover both. We found no official statement saying they are identical.
Can I use Determination Mono commercially?
Check the license on the page where you download it. Fan fonts vary. If you want zero risk, use Pixelify Sans or another open-license pixel font.
Why does my pixel text look blurry?
Your app is probably smoothing it or scaling it by a non-whole number. Use whole-number sizes and turn off anti-aliasing if you can.
