Chainsaw Man Font

The Chainsaw Man logo is rough, custom lettering, and no official font has been released. Fan recreations exist but they are look-alikes. Free picks like Permanent Marker, Rubik Dirt and Anton give a similar gritty feel.

About the Chainsaw Man font

Chainsaw Man is a manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto. It started in Shonen Jump+ in December 2018, and the anime by studio MAPPA premiered in October 2022. The story follows Denji, a poor young man who merges with a chainsaw devil.

The title is jagged, uneven and hand-drawn. Inside the manga, the lettering and sound effects are largely hand-drawn too, which gives it a raw, unpolished feel. We found no source naming a typeface for the logo, so we treat it as custom artwork.

Fan recreations

Sites such as DaFont carry fonts that imitate the style. They are unofficial and licenses differ. Many are personal use only, so check the file first.

Why there is no official font

The logo was drawn for the series, not typed. The name and logo are trademarks of the rights holders. Fan edits are fine. Selling merch with the logo is not.

Using the look in your own projects

The manga’s roughness is part of the storytelling. Panels are cramped, sound effects crash across the page and titles seem scribbled on. A good fan design keeps that mess under control, with one rough title and clean supporting text.

If you draw your own title, try writing it by hand on paper with a thick marker, then scan it. That gives you a result no font can match, and you avoid copying the official artwork. Scan at a high resolution so you can scale it up for posters.

Do not forget the supporting cast of the page. Sound-effect style words, such as short bursts in bold type placed at an angle, add energy fast. Keep them to one or two per image so the title still has room to stand out.

How to make Chainsaw Man-style text

  • Use red and black, with an off-white background like torn paper.
  • Rotate letters a few degrees each so they look unevenly placed.
  • Add a rough edge effect. In Canva, an outline with a small offset gives a hand-cut look.
  • Keep a hand-drawn feel. Do not clean up edges too much.
